There are times this reminded me of A Knight's Tale, but I think it's because they're both about jousting.
The book kind of dragged until chapter 16 or so. Yeah, I get there's set up and all that, but it felt so predictable. Having said that, the explanations towards the end brought everything together.
Honestly, I liked the book but it was just meh.
