"Every revolution begins with breakfast, darling."
I've been having an issue with authors and their pen names for a little while now.
I'll read a book and find it not to my liking. I'll let anyone that reads a review I've done for the book know why I didn't like the book. Sometimes I can't stand the characters, or it's the setting, or it's just the author's writing style. In any case, if I don't like the book, I'll keep the author on my list of those to avoid.
Then I'll find a book that I totally gel with. Characters, story line and tone all agree with me just like a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a vanilla shake. I'll investigate the author for more of their books only to find out that it's written by the person I put on the "no thank you" list but under a pen name!
Ugh. I don't get the whole pen name thing. Is what I described above happen to anyone else? Or did I just describe why authors have pen names?
Or do I just not care and really want the cheeseburger, fries and shake?
